When you are interacting with Exclamation Labs, there is a good chance that you are unaware of the talent fueling your project. We work with some pretty spectacular people who are truly experts in their field. Take a few minutes to get to know them, personally and professionally, and see why these folks are the "special sauce" in our recipe for success.
Q: Give us a quick overview: Tell us about your role at eLabs. How long have you been here? What roles have you played? What is your favorite thing about working at eLabs?
I am the Lead Developer/Solutions Architect responsible for directing our development team and working with our other managers to prioritize resource needs. I was hired nine years ago as a front-end developer, and I have seen our team really grow and flourish every year. I love that everyone is dedicated to doing the best job they can for our clients.
Bobbie Cooper, Director of IAM, praised Brandon's leadership style and the solutions that the development team is providing for our clients:"Under Brandon’s approachable leadership style, our development team has consistently achieved better targets. His ingenuity instills a sense of confidence in fellow team members and clients. On top of that, Brandon is brilliant at understanding our client’s complex technical needs, and organizes his team to deliver effective solutions to meet them."
Since we’re here in the “Lab,” time for an exam! No right or wrong answers, but it is rapid fire. We'll call this "10 questions in 60 seconds." Tell us the first thing that comes to your mind:
1. What would you name the autobiography of your life?
“One more time!?” Okay, I stole this idea from my toddler. He’s a master negotiator.
2. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
Play the piano. Or play the guitar with more dexterity.
3. When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time?
What is this ‘free time’ you speak of? With any time that I have, though, playing and spending time with my son. I also enjoy listening to podcasts while I walk the dog.
4. If you could be any fictional character, who would you choose?
Superman - but only for one specific reason - I’ve always wished it was possible to just float and fly around.
5. What is something you learned in the last week?
Robert Noyce, who co-founded Intel Corporation, was a tinkerer from childhood. As a child, he sought to motorize his sled. Thanks to this type of creativity and ingenuity, we have the microchip as we see it today.
6. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
Indoor: Watching a good movie. Outdoor: Spending time at the beach or around a campfire.
7. What chore do you absolutely hate doing?
8. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
9. What’s the coolest (or most important) trend you see today?
Simplification - less is more - especially with regards to our digital lives. We are so deeply digitally connected and available, but I don’t believe we are designed to be in such a strong way. Personally, I’m working on putting the phone down or completely away and instead, being present to the moment more often.
10. What would you most like to tell potential eLabs employees or customers?
Everyone here is great to work with. It's not only a team of experts, but people who truly care — they care about the quality of their work, focusing on what matters most, and getting behind the face value of a challenge. At Exclamation Labs, everyone is ready to collaborate and work together — focusing on project, team, and client success. It’s for this reason that I love working with this team!
We recognize the critical impact each employee creates in helping our clients and us to achieve success. Check back monthly for more highlights about members of our talented ELabs team!
